Description: The Seattle Intellectual Property American Inn of Court will be hosting WSPLA at our February joint meeting. Members of the Seattle IP American Inn of Court will cover the legality of crawling and scraping websites for content, a hot area of law that recently gained clarity following the Ninth Circuit’s 2019 opinion addressing LinkedIn’s attempt to block scraping of publicly facing member profiles. This presentation will address potential liability under both copyright law and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act – Wikipedia.
Time: A social mixer will begin at 5:30 PM in the lounge, followed by dinner at 6:00 PM, and a one-hour CLE presentation at 6:50 PM.
Location: The University of Washington Club, 4020 East Stevens Way NE, Seattle, WA 98195
