ABOUT WSPLA COMMITTEESThe Washington State Patent Law Association currently has six standing committees. WSPLA Members are welcome to volunteer for any committee to contribute to the Association’s activities and to enhance their experience with the Association and the intellectual property law community. |
| Mission: The committee will assist the WSPLA Board in deciding on filing amicus briefs for key intellectual property issues in court cases. They will evaluate the impact on IP rights and the interests of members and the public. If recommended and approved, the committee will draft, approve, and submit the brief per WSPLA procedures. Additionally, the committee will offer networking opportunities for patent litigation professionals to enhance advocacy quality and foster relationships with the Bench. |
| Mission: The mission of the Content Committee is to provide WSPLA members with access to pertinent content through evaluation, creation and distribution of content via various channels including WSPLA’s meetings, website, email, and social media. The content may include patent-related resources, news, events, articles, opportunities, and other content that is valuable to WSPLA members and Washington’s patent community. |

| Mission: The mission of the WSPLA Mentoring Committee is to mentor law students who attend a law school in Washington State and who are interested in practicing patent law upon graduation. Persons interested in joining the Washington State Patent Law Association Mentor/Mentee Program can sign up by completing this form. |
| Mission: The committee will help the WSPLA Board decide on filing comments or papers for key IP issues in administrative matters or proposed agency rules. They aim to improve USPTO practices and suggest patent practice changes that impact IP rights. Additionally, the committee will organize educational sessions for WSPLA, including events like the Group 1600 PTO Road Show. |
| Mission: Evaluates interests of the Association’s membership in participating in social functions and organizes and conducts social functions accordingly. |
